Prof. Ren Xin, Nanjing Tech University

Head of Department of Mechanics and Engineering Materials


Xin Ren is a Full Professor at the Centre of Innovative Structures, Head of the Department of Mechanics and Engineering Materials, School of Civil Engineering, Nanjing Tech University. He graduated with a Ph.D. from RMIT University, Australia in 2017 (Supervised by Professor Yi Min Xie, academician of the Australian Academy of Engineering; and Professor Hong Qi Tian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering). Vebleo Fellow, Winner of Jiangsu Outstanding Youth Fund in China.  Member of the International Negative Poisson's Ratio Materials and Structure Academic Committee (the only one in mainland China); Published more than 70 peer-reviewed journal papers, including 10 "ESI Highly Cited" papers, with a total cited number of more than 5,000 times and H-Index is 36. He is one of Elsevier's highly cited scholars in China and is a top 2% scientist. Acted as guest editor for the following international journals: Engineering Structures (JCR-Q1), Thin-Walled Structures (JCR-Q1); Editorial board member for Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures (JCR-Q2); Youth editorial board for Chinese Journal of Applied Mechanics. He is mainly engaged in the research of Metamaterials, Structural Engineering, New Materials and New Structures, Composite Materials, etc.
